What is the cost difference for 1 bedroom verses 2 bedrooms
A common practice with vacation rentals in the Caribbean is to quote prices based on the # of bedrooms needed (Villa Velaire has 2 bedrooms, both with en-suite baths). If you only need one bedroom (1-2 guests), you will be quoted the one bedroom rate - this saves you money, as you are not paying for a 2nd bedroom that you will not be using. If there are 3-4 guests in your party, then the cost for the 2nd bedroom is an additional $43/per night.
* If you only need one bedroom during your stay, the 2nd bedroom is locked, it is never rented out to anyone else.
** Maximum Occupancy - There is a maximum occupancy of 4 individuals on the premise at all times.
What forms of payment can I use?
Guests can pay their deposit and final payment with Visa, Mastercard, Discover or personal checks.
In the event of a charge-back or reversal of any payment made by a guest (i.e. credit card is declined, insufficient funds in account etc.), the guest is responsible for reimbursing all fees incurred from these charge-backs and/or reversals.
How much of a deposit do I need to secure my reservation at Villa Velaire?
A deposit of 50% of your reservation is required to secure your vacation time at Villa Velaire. This deposit is due within five (5) days of making your reservation, along with the signed contract that will be sent to you. If your deposit is not received within 5 days, your reservation will be released.
Aside from the rental price, are there any other fees?
A 9% government sales/service tax and a $49 non-refundable Property Damage Protection Plan (PDP) will be added to each reservation.
Aside from the 9% tax and PDP, there are no other fees.
Please keep in mind, if you book direct, there are never any service fees, however, if you book through VRBO or HomeAway, you do have to pay service fees when you book through them. I do not receive any of these fees, they are paid directly to VRBO/HomeAway.
How do I get directions and keys to Villa Velaire, once I arrive on the island?
About a month prior to your arrival into St. Maarten, I will contact you and go over your flight itinerary, as well as the rental car agency you will be using while on island. Our local representative will greet you at the rental car agency of your choice, and then escort you to Villa Velaire, where they will acquaint you with all of the operations and mechanics of the villa, as well as give you the keys.
* About 3 weeks prior to your arrival into St. Maarten, you will receive a Welcome Letter, going over all your arrival information in detail.
Is there parking at Villa Velaire?
Yes, there is parking, however, there are NO designated parking spots in the Pelican Cove Complex - you are free to park anywhere you like. There is a parking spot directly in front of Villa Velaire that you can park in if it’s open (it’s on an incline, so if you have mobility issues, parking in another spot would be better).
